This plaza is surrounded by history, with the past and also present town hall, the Templo, the arched Portales de Guadalupe y Allende, the former Aldama market, and Casa Allende. The location is San Miguel's historic downtown, and this is where locals come to stroll evenings and lazy Sunday afternoons. The gazebo, the tilework, the trees, the rose gardens and the wrought iron benches are all maintained with great care. As a whole, this plaza might be said to be of eclectic French late-nineteenth century design. |
